AP Diving Kit helps save Seals

Monday morning and Dave and Leslie Jarvis of Cornwall BDMLR dropped by the factory for a brief visit on their way to the local vets. Dave and Leslie brought one of the 5 seal pups they and other members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue team had rescued over the weekend to show to the AP Diving staff.

AP Diving design and make specialist carrying bags, like the one held up here by AP’s Nicky and Suzanne, specifically for seal rescue.

Three pups were rescued from Boscastle harbour including this one, estimated to be about 1 month old, which had suffered minor bite injuries. Two more seals were rescued in Cornwall over the weekend at Godrevy and Pendeen.

Dave attributes this high number of shouts to the high tides and stormy conditions. One of the seals suffered a broken jaw but is expected to recover after an operation to reset it. All 5 will be given a home at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, Gweek, before being released back to the wild.
